Melt zone on Vora Baniri
During winter, the shell of the world freezes as Yata’s orbit takes it further from Suharna. As the surface warms in spring, patches of open sea begin to emerge where the warmer water from volcanic vents has prevented thick ice from forming. The aspidochelones emerge, calving from the ice sheets, and by midsummer only the Reb Muragi and Eptatel remain solid, as they drift slowly to their new summer anchorages.
